Therapies

Following are the therapy services provided at the Sorig Tibetan Medical Centre:

Moxibustion: It is a traditional therapy in Tibetan medicines which involves burning dried moxa near specific selected points on the body to provide warmth and stimulation of cold related diseases and reducing plasma disorders.

 Medicated Bath: Traditional external therapy in Tibetan medicine, which involves bathing the whole body or a specific body part in warm water infused with medicinal herbs. 

Venesection:  Medical procedure in which health care professional removes a measured amount of blood from a vein for treating certain medical conditions. It is also called bloodletting. It helps to reduce excessive blood related diseases and remove blood toxins, improve organ functions well maintaining. 

Steam bath:   An external therapy in which you sit in a warm bathtub filled moist steam for restoration of skin cells and comfort. It helps to reduce relax muscles, stiffness and blood circulation problems. 

Compression therapy:  Soft therapy and external treatment in Tibetan medicine that applies controlled pressure to parts of the body. It helps improve blood and lymph circulation, reduce swelling and pains. The compression therapy has two main types like hot fomentation and cold fomentation therapy based on different medical conditions. 

Acupuncture:  Complementary therapy in which practitioner select specific points of the body for stimulating nerves and opening the body channels.  It helps blood flow and cleansing blockage. Effective for chronic neck and back pains, headaches and migraines, muscle tension and general wellbeing. 

Oil massage: massage is a traditional Tibetan therapeutic massage technique that a properly trained practitioner performs as applying oil, rubbing, kneading, pressure, and gentle manipulation of the body to revitalization, relieve muscle tension and support general wellbeing. 

Ho-Me:  It is a Tibetan traditional external therapy in which heated herbal preparations are applied to specific points or areas of the body for reducing muscle stiffness and tension, relief from minor aches and discomfort, supporting the blood circulation and sleep problems, and promote feeling of calm and wellbeing. 

Deep tissue therapy:  is a focused massage technique that uses slow strokes and firm, direct pressure to reach the deeper layers of muscles, ligaments, tissues, and fascia to reduce pain, release tension improve flexibility and restore mobility. 

Cupping therapy:  External treatment which helps blood circulation problems and muscle soreness and tightness, reduce serum and pain relief.
